Spring Members Meeting - April 21
More than 50 NCHSD members attended this year’s Spring Meeting in New Orleans. We had a terrific panel of speakers (view the agenda): Neil Romano, Assistant Secretary of ODEP; Merritt Carey, a business consultant from Maine; Chris Knopf, a Connecticut media consultant; and Anthony Morgali, a media specialist and film producer from Oregon. They offered creative strategies for developing and delivering effective messages, working with the right partners, and using the best messages to support infrastructure change. In addition to the dynamic discussion that took place among the participants, we enjoyed beignets, muffulettas and barbeque shrimp in the great New Orleans tradition!

Work Incentives Planning and Outreach Infrastructure Conference - June 18-19
This is a unique opportunity for NCHSD members to gather and discuss work incentives planning infrastructure development, quality and sustainability. The one-and-a-half day conference is scheduled for June 18–19 in Chicago. All NCHSD states are invited to send two representatives to participate. You can read more about the conference in our April eNews.
The meeting will help states identify the work incentives models that would best meet their own state’s needs, develop infrastructure that compliments WIPA programs, anticipate and address quality concerns, set performance standards, and understand on-line tools and other planning resources. A key theme will be ensuring sustainability of work incentives planning infrastructure beyond the life of the MIG program.

2008 National MIG Conference - September 3-4
NCHSD's 8th Annual National MIG Conference - Sustaining Infrastructure: A Strategy Conference for Medicaid Infrastructure Grantees - is scheduled for September 3-4 in Chicago. The two day conference is an opportunity for MIG grantees across the country to share the latest promising practices and innovations for building competitive employment infrastructure for people with disabilities.
